This initiative helps boost biodiversity by letting grass grow longer, wildflowers can bloom, providing essential food and habitats for insects, birds, and small mammals. Additionally, this approach contributes to climate action by storing carbon in undisturbed soils and improving resilience against extreme weather events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Principles of No Mow Meadows<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Grass is left to grow April-October and cut-collected at the end of season<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The most unsightly weeds will be removed where possible<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Regular mowing of paths, edges and around benches to ensure easy public access and tidy boundary<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Aberdeenshire Council are looking for feedback on areas across Aberdeenshire proposed\u00a0for No Mow Meadows in 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The No Mow Meadow sites can be viewed on<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/d\/edit?mid=1hrK3vVA-d3hT-Hs5rjESzduVNxrC1Bg&amp;usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00a0this Google map(External link)<\/a>\u00a0and your comments can be shared in <a href=\"https:\/\/engage.aberdeenshire.gov.uk\/no-mow-meadows\/surveys\/no-mow-meadows-initiative\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/engage.aberdeenshire.gov.uk\/no-mow-meadows\/surveys\/no-mow-meadows-initiative\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">this survey<\/a>. <br><br>Click on the pin for a detailed plan of the proposed area.
