About

Friends of Forest Drive Park was established in 2023, after an unsuccessful Community Asset Transfer (CAT) and a unified movement to save our green space by the local community in Stonehaven. The Group was formed to try and improve, maintain, develop and protect our local park so it can be available to future generations for many more years.

We want to encourage everyone, young and old, to use, value and look after the park and help provide a recognised group to facilitate this while working in partnership with the whole community, the local council and other organisations both local and national.

We aim to promote the park through social media, local events, fundraising and collaboration with local groups / clubs and bi-annual newsletter.
We aim to maintain the park, improve facilities and ensure it is inclusive for all members of our community.
We aim to protect the park from any future CAT requests, from further decline and ensure it can thrive for many years to come.
We aim to help develop the park, ensuring we maximise it’s full potential while conserving the natural plants, wildlife and birds in the park.
We aim to develop a programme of activities, promoting the health and wellbeing benefits of open green space
