St Fitticks Park Crowd Funding Launch

St Fitticks Park

8th April 2026

Friends of St Fitticks Park got in touch recently to ask us to share this with our friend members and local community to help raise awareness of the threat facing their local Park and to support the legal challenge which they are launching to prevent its industrialisation.

Evidence was uncovered to suggest the Park and surrounding land (including parts of new harbour) are held as part of a centuries-old Trust. This means the land can only be used for ‘heritage’, ‘educational’ and ‘charitable’ purposes, as described in the Trust’s constitution. Aberdeen City Council have been made aware of this evidence, but up to now they have not been able to comprehensively answer the questions it raises. Therefore 3 members of their campaign are willing to take the council to court.

On 8th April 2026 their crowdfunding appeal through the Crowd Justice platform was launched. They are reaching out to all individual supporters to respond to their appeal and also to organisations whose aims and ethos align with their campaign to protect a unique, ecologically bio-diverse greenspace which benefits both the local community and the wildlife it supports.
