Once again we are holding a Community Picnic & BBQ on Sunday 24th May, from 2pm to 5pm in Forest Drive Park.
Bring your own chairs, snacks, drinks and any outdoor games you have. FOFDP will be doing beef burgers on the BBQ and will have a small selection of soft drinks and water available to raise funds for our next projects.
It’s a great chance to meet Committee Members and ask any questions you may have about Friends of Forest Drive Park, discuss joining the Friends team or just enjoy your local green space. We will have an area marked out but you are welcome to come over near the BBQ Gazebo or sit at any of the Picnic Tables and watch the Tug O War which dates back to 2000bc.
Kinneff Tug O War team will be holding a 6 a-side Open Competition which is running all day so definitely worth a watch. Teams from all over Scotland will compete to win and gain valuable practice before the Royal Highland Show in June.
They have kindly donated a Children’s Tug O War rope for anyone who wants to try it out, (some of us adults me have a go also). Giant Skittles will be available to play along with any other outdoor games anyone brings along.
